The story "Gumption" is has a descriptive structure, since it looks forward to describing an idea. In the story, the author helps us to understand Clara's individual interpretation of "Gumption" by depicting it to the reader.
In the other hand, "To build a fire" is written in a sequential structure (the ideas are presented as they happen in time) and it shows the reader how each one of the man's unintelligent decisions play a part in his undoing.
