Tapestries are unique, decorative type of heavy woven clothing  largely worn  to church or  to the European courts by royality and wealthy individuals.  The period of tapestry weaving in European occurred between 14th to 18th century.  During this time, tapestries served not only to benefit the patrons, but anyone who can afford them. Given its artistic and luxurious looks,  tapestries were used to help demonstrate owner's wealth. Additionally, due to its heavy materials  they were used for insulation during the winter seasons
