Before making a turn, the person turns on their turn signal using a switch mounted on the side of their steering column. That person typically turns the steering wheel (relevant to the angle of the turn as to not cut it short or overshoot it) and slowly eases into the curve of the road with the car, once past the widest point of the curve, the person needs to straighten out the wheel and start pressing on the accelerator to get back up to a road-safe speed. Once safely out of the curve and as they are gradually coming up to speed, they need to turn their turn signal off.
