Graph f(x)=2x−1 and g(x)=−x+5 on the same coordinate plane.

What is the solution to the equation f(x)=g(x)f(x)=g(x) ?

plz help

Respuesta :

To graph both lines the first thing you should do is assign values of x to each equation and then get "y". Finally you must join the points.
 The solution for f (x) = g (x) is
 2x-1 = -x + 5
 3x = 6
 x = 6/3 = 2
 To find "y"
 f (2) = 2 (2) -1 = 3
 or equivalently
 g (2) = - 2 + 5 = 3
 The solution is then the ordered pair
 (x, y) = (2,3).
 Graphically this is the point where both lines are cut.
 See attached graph.
