For: The population of lions is dangerously low, despite efforts to preserve the species. Cloning could allow us to elevate the population of lions to a level where they're not in danger of being killed off in the near future.
Against: Lions population levels are decreasing, so we must do whatever we can to preserve the current population. Breeding programs and captivity could be possible solutions. Cloning is immoral and dangerous. If lions are meant to die out, than so be it.
