First we will calculate the income earned by the school,

= $ 12x

Now, we will calculate the cost paid by the school

= $[tex] (6000 + 4 \times x) [/tex]

= $(6000+4x)

Now, using equation 1

We get,

12x = 6000 + 4x

12x - 4x = 6000

8x = 6000

[tex] x = \frac{6000}{8} [/tex]

= 750

Therefore, the school must sell 750 T-shirts before breaking even.
