divide. what can go into 12 and 18? 2. so if there are 2 groups, than 6 girls will go into group one with 9 boys, and the same for group 2.

Given:

Number of girls = 12

Number of boys = 18

Find the highest common factor of 12 and 18

12 = 1, 2, 4, 6, 12

18 = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 12

The highest common factor of 12 and 18 is 6

Number of girls in each group = 12/6

= 2 girls

Number of boy in each group = 18/6

= 3 boys

Therefore, the group can be split into 6 groups to have 2 girls and 3 boys in each group
