Jim Crow laws were racist laws that impacted the lives of every African American. These laws were created on state and local levels to segregate blacks from whites. Due to this, there was a spread of the mentality that African Americans were inferior to whites although there was this "separate but equal" meaning behind these laws. Some of the laws include; Not allowing food to be served to blacks in the same room as whites at a restaurant, marriage between a white and a black were illegal, and the segregation of black children from white children in school.
