The financial service industry, which consists of insurance, fund management, management consultancy, accounting services and many more contributes around 80% of UK's GDP. The industry makes up about 10.7% of the UK economy, contributing ÂŁ176bn in 2015 alone. The industry is also the largest exporter, generating more tax revenues for the government than any other sector, and running a trade surplus of around ÂŁ72bn. The financial services industry is in the UK is especially important; there are an estimated 2.2m financial and professional services employees in the UK today.
