I agree that the steam engine was the greatest invention of
the Industrial Revolution. Without it
production and delivery of good and services would not have accelerated. It
powered machines that make work faster and did tasks that ordinary laborers
could not. It increased production and with came the rise of factories. Apart from production, new forms of
transportation such as ships and trains made it possible for goods and services
to travel faster and reach more people.
It was versatile machines that helped mechanized society and paved the
way better technology that we now enjoy today.
