The effect of damage to the afferent division of the peripheral nervous system would be to interfere with a person's ability to experience a variety of sensory stimuli. The peripheral nervous system includes the cranial nerves, spinal nerves, their roots and branches, peripheral nerves and neuromascular junctions. It is subdivide into afferent of sensory division ad the efferent or motor division. The afferent or sensory divisions transmit impulses from peripheral organs to the CNS, therefore its damage would interfere with transmission of impulses to the CNS.
