economically in the Northern and Southern regions in the early 1800s?
In the early 1800s, the Northern region industrialized more than other regions of the country because it allowed protective tariff, access to multiple waterways, and the presence of financial capital.
The Southern economy was based on agriculture, (due to the climate) the South had a smaller and more spread out population than the North.
