Respuesta :
The colonization period in Haiti was difficult, one of the hardest ones in all the Americas, the slavery was cataloged as the cruelest ever known, and the general live conditions for middle and lower classes were not good at all.
At the bottom of the social pyramid were the slaves, however the french soldiers had really hard duties on those times, they can be cataloged like ¨White slaves¨, obviously they haven´t to perform the slave´s work, however duties turning around the slavery, extended shifts and dreadful life conditions made their work a difficult one.
So Haitian Slaves and French soldiers were technically in a similar spot, however, the slaves had survival and another kind of advantages over the French soldiers, a key point was the resistance or partial immunity to different diseases, unfortunately, that wasn´t the French´s case.
Yellow fever was a major issue to the French forces in Haiti, debilitated the army, and was one of the key points of the posterior events (the slavery and Haiti revolutions).
So definitely the two kinds of newcomers to Haiti, haven´t the same fate, the majority of slaves adapted quickly to new territory. the opposite happened to the French soldiers.
There were many advantages that Haitian’s had over French Soldiers but their biggest advantage was that they outnumbered French Soldiers in terms of Army.
Further Explanation:
Self-Liberated slaves initiated Haitian Revolution and it was an Anti-Slavery and Anti-Colonial revolution that was against the French Colonial Rule. It lasted for 13 years as it started in year 1791 and ended in 1804 after they got Independence and became Sovereign nation, Haiti. It was the only revolutionary moment of that period in which a new state was formed which was anti slave and not even ruled by white captives. This revolution was also seen as a defining movement against slavery in Atlantic world. From the start of this Revolution against France, Haitians always had edge over its opponent. The main and most important advantage the Haitians had that they outnumbered the French Soldiers as the number of revolutionaries who joined Haitian revolution and Haitian army was very high, Second Advantage which the Haitians had was that they were fighting against French at their own turf. The people supporting Haitian revolution were more motivated because they were fighting to free their nation. They also had a strong political leader to lead them. France lost so much in this war. They lost around 30000 of their troops and also had to leave Haiti which was most lucrative and wealth producing countries in the world during that time.
