What is the mass in grams of 5.11 x 10^25 molecules of CaCO3? If possible can i get work shown I want to know the process of how its solved because I have various questions similar to this:) thanks

Respuesta :

mass  of CaCo3  is  calculated  as  follows

calculate   the  moles   of  CaCO3  by  use  of  Avogadro  constant
that is  1  moles  =  6.02  x10^23  molecules

what  about   5.11  x10^25  molecules

by  cross  multiplication

= 1 mole  x (  5.11  x10^25)  /(  6.02  x10^23)  =  84.88  moles

mass  =  mole  x  molar  mass
the  molar  mass  of CaCO3  =   40.078  +  12.011+  (3  x15.999)  =  100.086  g/mol

mass  is therefore  =  84.88  moles  x  100.086  g/mol=  8495.3   grams
