0.50x+1.50y=12
x+y=16

0.50x+1.50y=12
0.50x=-1.5y+12
x=-3+24

(-3y+24)+y=16
-3y+24+y=16
-2y=-8
y=4

x+4=16
x=12

x=12   y=4
