x2 + 10x = 15

x² 10x = 15

x² + 10x + 5² = 15 + 5²

(x + 5)² = 15 + 25

(x + 5)² = 40

x + 5 = [tex]\pm[/tex]√40

x = √40 - 5 or x = -√40 - 5

x = (2√10 -5) or (-2√10 - 5)
