Western front is what most people think of when day think about the World War I. The war on the Western front is characterized by the trench warfare as we have to sides dug into trenches therefore being relative protected from each others fire. This lead to a stalemate and the war of attrition as both sides tried to bleed the other side out.

the answer is a :) trench warfare helped with casualitites, however, it was extremely unsanitary and was just a bad idea becuase they weren't able to leave the trench without getting killed
