What type of evidence does the student use in paragraph 2 of the essay?

My interests and goal as a major are to be in communications. I requested to take journalism as one of my classes to have experience in that field of study. It was to my dismay that I was no longer able to take that class for my senior year because of a required class I had to take. Schools traditionally have two goals: (1) to help each student gain personal fulfillment and (2) to help create good citizens. Why, then, are they forcing students to take classes they don’t want to take? Why am I not able to take journalism even though it is fulfilling my personal goals?

In this case Anecdotal Evidence is being used. We know this because it is talking about personal experience and personal observation.

Anecdotal evidence is that which is acquired based on personal experiences and isolated events. It is also collected in an informal manner. Because of this, this type of evidence is generally considered to be limited in value. In this case, the student is using anecdotal evidence because he is passing a judgement based on his own personal experience.
