Can you please explain me this 3rd. grade problem? I know is 8 and 2, but how can I find the 'pattern'. Thank you.

"Marvin find doubles facts, such as 4+4 and 1+1, on the addition table. He colors each sum. What pattern does Marvin make when he colors the sums of the double facts?"

I think the pattern might be that when you 1 and 1 you get 2 so when you add 2 and 2 you get 4 then 4 and 4 is 8 then 8 and 8 is 16 so ig the pattern is that when add the number to itself you get the answer then you add the answer to itself to get another answer then add that answer to itself and so on and so forth.

Im srry if this didnt make sense but i hope it helped at least a little bit!!!!
