Where does the person giving this description below likely live? my country has been under indirect control by the british since the 19th century. like many african countries, our people believed we would be freed. answers?

I believe the answer is: Post-WorldWar II Ghana

But after some social movement made by workers, youngsters and the women movement made by Ghana's civilian British finally agreed to gained Ghana their own independent. Even though Atlantic Charter was made in 1941, Ghana's only get their independence about ten years later.
