The Bisbee Deportation was the result of the Industrial Workers of the World (also known as the IWW) giving the owners of mining companies in Bisbee, Arizona a list of demands. These demands were focused on better pay and safer working conditions.
However, the owners of the mining company denied all their requests. Along with this, they punished the workers who did strike during this time. In the end, the strikers were kidnapped and put onto cattle cars. From there, they went on a roughly 200 mile journey to Hermanas, New Mexico. The workers were kicked out at this point and told not to return to Bisbee ever again.
