If these are two separate questions then this is how you do it:
First the left one
[tex]29 - 3p + 3 = 5(3p - 8)[/tex]
[tex]32 - 3p = 15p - 40[/tex]
[tex]72 = 18p[/tex]
[tex]72/18 = p[/tex]
[tex]p = 4[/tex]
Now the right one
[tex]4(x + 6) - 7 = x + 35[/tex]
[tex]4x + 24 - 7 = x + 35[/tex]
[tex]4x + 17 = x + 35[/tex]
[tex]3x = 18[/tex]
[tex]x = 6[/tex]
