They are talking about the their "golden ages" when they used to be happy and had fun being childrens. I guess now they are full grown and they are just remembering age of youth.

The theme is that people develop closeness through shared experiences. By looking at the photo album, Sean and Erin evoke the memories they have in common and a sense of satisfaction and closeness is read between the lines by the way they describe the memories: "our early morning breakfast", and "I loved peering through the wooden slats...
