The women's movement faught for the respect of rights, freedom, equality to be able to work, vote and have an active participation in society.
The fight to acomplished all the goals wasn't at all easy. When subjects such as sexualty or repreductve rights were in discussion, the division among the same group of women was an issue.
Some women that had a concervative way of thinking , elderly women did not agree on some of the topics realting sexual and reproduction freedom. This division of opinions brought the separaton of some women and the movement to change.
Explanation:
Women's movement had to support sexual freedom, because women have been opressed and forced to asume a role of passivity regarding their own sexuality. Losing some feminst because of this fight, became something to bare with if necessary, to fight for the cause.
Over the years, younger women think that they should have the right to express their sexuality without hindrance, while older women who have been through the whole hassle of life know better.
Older women understand that there is no freedom in sexuality. Instead, in sexuality, there is responsibility. Therefore, they prefer to discuss responsible sexuality instead of free sexual expression. Sexuality is a divine gift that has inherent purposes.
Its full expression requires a community of persons, especially in a nuclear family. This exclusivity of sexuality emanates from the fruit of sexual relationships, creating a new human being with a right to life that needs societal protection.
Sexuality is not like the food and other mundane enjoyments that one can derive from an activity. It links a man and a woman together at a spiritual, mental, and physical level that denotes the highest form of human bonding.
Thus, as sexuality demands a secure environment for full expression and enjoyment, it requires the uninhibited freedom of choice, free from the exigencies of the moment.
