Passage
The Eisenhower Interstate Highway System, which was planned and
constructed in the 1950s, includes many of the highways we drive on today.
At first, most Americans were excited about the possibility of a quick
commute to their favorite city or a smooth trip across this great country of
ours, but in the years since, it's become obvious the plan had some major
flaws. In several states, the main city is the hub where all the state's highways
meet. This not only causes major traffic problems in these cities but also
makes it difficult for anyone to cross the state in an efficient way.

Respuesta :

Answer:It increased Americans' reliance on government aid. The highway system allowed for more people to live away from urban areas and commute to work. The suburbs were created to meet the housing demand of those commuters.

hope this helps :)
