Proserpine is a Roman goddess, and her myth is well-known nowadays. Proserpine is believed to have been kidnapped by the god Pluto, the god of the underworld. Her mother, Ceres, when she found out the news, initiated a frantic search for her. Because of her sadness, everything in the world started to die. Due to this problem, Proserpine was eventually temporarily restored to the world. From then on, she spent six months in the world with her mother, and six months in the underworld with Pluto.
