A 48-year-old client reports swelling and severe pain in his right wrist. after examination and radiographs negate a fracture, what would you expect the physician to prescribe as treatment? cast all options are correct. brace splint

I think the correct answer would be the last option. You would expect the physician to prescribe the client a splint. This is used in order to immobilize the wrist, protecting it from further damage and allow for it to heal.  To do a splint, you would need an object that is hard to bend. It can be a stick, a plank, or a rolled newspaper. You should be careful in using materials that has sharp edges. It should be wrapped in cloth. After putting the rigid object to the area, you have  to fasten it in place so you can use ropes, strips of cloth, shoelaces or medical tape. You should not be using ordinary tapes as this could cause more injury on the skin.
