The question was based on the Revolution and Republican Culture it showed a table of imports and exports between Britain and its Colonies 5.1 p. 153 showing that Britain made greater exported products to the colonies and imported less. Colonized countries were required to have the export goods from Britain, they don't have control on trading because Britain decides the economic condition of the colonies.

Britain alays thought that exporting for America is much more proftable for them tan importing, it was a way of controling the economy of the colony and its possible chance of revolution financing. The colonies on the extreme north of America were not so searched as the other ones because of the difficultis to get ther and the extreme cold temperature.

Because they were so cold and distant they really need to import products, it used to be hard to plant and produce things there, on the other hand they had a very valuable product for the rest of the country and specially for England, fur.
