Why does the First Amendment matter today? It protects people’s right to say whatever they want even if it threatens public safety. It protects people’s right to own and use weapons for the defense of self and family. Without it, people could not share ideas freely on the Internet without risking arrest. Without it, people could not seek protection from police or the military for anything.

Respuesta :

The answer is without it, people could not share ideas freely on the internet without risking arrest

Answer:

Without it, people could not share ideas freely on the Internet without risking arrest.

Explanation:

The first amendment says that: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

It is the amendment of Free Speech. It doesn't protect the citizen directly, but prevents the congress to diminish your freedom. In the age of the internet, congress cannot create laws that forbid you to say what you want, even online.
